Today I could do nothing with my hair…at all. Therefore the last resort ponytail was my only option. Instead of being slick back and boring I made it a little Adele-ish. I wanted comfy casual clothes so an oversized men’s shirt with leggings and flats is what I ended up with. I spruced up the look with feather earrings from Urban Outfitters and robin egg blue nails.
I was reading WWD, and I came across this article that I had to share with you all. Maiyet is a women’s ready-to-wear line that has some really great jewelry, handbags, and shoes.”Maiyet’s mission is to create a design-driven fashion line that works with craftsman in areas of economic and political conflict, like Colombia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, South Sudan and South Africa, and build their businesses. Maiyet doesn’t have a big name designer. Instead, it’s a team effort. Talent has been recruited from Ralph Lauren, Celine and The Row.” Read more here.
Booties and boyfriend jeans are my favorite trend for fall. Animal print is hot right now and it spices up a bland outfit. My shoes are actually Sperrys…i know right?? You can get them at Dillards.com. They are seriously the most comfortable boots and have a little heel.
Yesterday afternoon, I decided to walk from my hotel in midtown to Soho to do a little shopping, and who did I bump in to? None other than Kim Kardashian. There were a ton of paparazzi, and I didn’t know what was going on. I quickly got out my camera and got this shot followed by a sweet little chat with Kim. She looked beautiful in her Christian Loubouin boots and my favorite a flowy top with dark pants.
I am on my way back to New York today as I am working with Patricia Nash on her PR/Marketing team. I will post pics, but for now here is a little something to get you in the New York mood. =)
If you don’t have a lot of time, you can get an effortless look on Saturday night by doing a lot with a little.
I achieved my look by finding inexpensive items, and had one splurge item to make the outfit pop. The leather bomber jacket is Forever 21 and cost around $30, the shirt is also Forever 21 and cost around $20, the pants are H&M and I think cost about $20, and the necklace was a gift. My splurge were the shoes which cost around $150, but they were a “could not live without” item I saw while I was shopping.
It’s Friday night so looking great is a must. I’m going with a ’40s retro glam look. I’m wearing a simple outfit, but with nice hair and make-up. For tips on dramatic eyes check out L’OrealParis.com. I’m wearing the Infallible Never Fail Lip Colour Stars Collection in Beyonce’s Red. You can get it here.
I recently read a feature story on Taylor Momsen in a local Nashville magazine, brite magazine, and I’m really digging her style. She is opinionated and knows what she wants. Everyone harps on her black eyeliner all the time and she says, “You know, you can only ask about my eye make-up so many times…”and that’s right. She does not care that people are shocked by her jump from Gossip Girl and in to music. She is the lead singer of her band, The Pretty Reckless, and couldn’t be happier. Go Taylor! Check out brite and you can read more for yourslef!
Military jackets are perfect for the fall weather right now. It’s not cold enough to wear a coat, but it’s still a little chilly. Mine is from Zara, but military jackets are hot right now so there are many other options.
